Well Kanye West manged to play himself again.  After an amazing and touching tribute from Janet Jackson to her late brother Michael, Yeezy decided to follow up with perhaps the most dishonoring moment in MTV VMA history,  snatching the microphone from country /pop star Taylor Swift after her win.

The 19-year old’s “You Belong With Me,” beat out Beyonce’s “Single Ladies,” for Best Female Video.  Clutching her first moon man Swift beamed, “I always wondered what it would be like to maybe win one of these someday, but never actually thought it would happen.” Enter knucklehead. “Taylor, I’m really happy for you, and I’m gonna let you finish, but Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time.”  Shell shocked Taylor left the stage. A visibly embarrassed Beyonce would make up for Kanye’s outburst later in the show when she won Video of the Year for “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It).”With true grace Beyonce shared the stage recalling her first win with Destiny’s Child at just 17 years old,  “I remember how excited I was. I’d like Taylor to come out and have her moment.” Taylor graciously emerged and thanked  family, friends from myspace and twitter–this time Kanye free.

Congratulations Taylor and Much Respect to Beyonce Knowles for giving honor where honor was due.
