JAY Z on Religion: I don’t believe in Christians or Muslims

Jay ZJay Z blew by HOT 97 recently with Angie Martinez. When asked about rumors that he was a devil worshiper or part of the illuminati. Here’s what jigga man had to say:

JAY Z: I don’t know where it started. I don’t know where it came from. I really think it’s really silly. For the record, I of course believe in God, but I believe in one God. If people must know my religious beliefs, I believe in one God. I don’t believe in religion. I don’t believe in Christians or Muslims. I think all that separates people. I think it’s one God. I think it’s all the same God, and I don’t believe in Hell. But as far as God, of course I believe in God. Am I a part of some sect or cult? That sounds stupid to me. It’s like ignorant to even say, and umm… I guess that’ll be the last time I address that. It’s ignorant to me” I can’t even get in a golf club in Palm Springs. I’m from Marcy Projects. Just think about that? People that control the world?


ANGIE: Do you believe that those sort of organizations exist?
JAY Z: I think there are cliques of friends that control things. I don’t if there is a devil worshipping sect. That’s a little Tom hanks. I believe there are cliques of people that control the world…but that’s just natural process. I’m sure Obama has his people and everything is good but as far as how far people are taking it…


ANGIE: So you don’t intentionally do this to put people in a frenzy?
JAY Z: I’m an entertainer at the end of the day. Maybe I’ll push your buttons but you know…

    It’s easy for someone to say “I believe in God.” The question is, who or what is your god? The Bible tells us that satan is the “god” of this world. So…the defining or distinguishing factor for we Christians is Jesus. I agree with questioning Jigga on his music, especially about the song “Lucifer.” “Lord forgive him…”. What’s that about?

    Jay-Z may have great wealth and power on this earth but, it means Nothing when Jesus comes back for his flock. I pray for you Jay before that day comes that you realize the Lord is king and accept him as your Lord and Savior.

    Every great deception often has a little truth in it. The small part of truth that JAY Z shared is there is one God. The deception is that there is no Hell, and that belief is Christ separates us all. I want Jay Z to know the love of Jesus for himself. I pray he recieves Him

    I really think it’s a publicity ploy. He is just pushing the envelope to get our reactions and in return stir up more drama to promote his album and singles. I do not take him seriously. He contradicts himself and doesn’t really have a strong opinion.
