According to TMZ.com (yes, TMZ) Laurence Fishburne’s daughter Montana-turned porn star  says Laurence told her she is unwelcome in his life and wants nothing to do with her … at least for now.  According to Montana, her dad said, “I’m not going to speak with you ’till you turn your life around.” Montana says Laurence added, “You embarrassed me.” And this parting shot.  According to Montana, Laurence said, “You used your last name. No one uses their real name in porn.” Now granted-considering the source these statements may very well be lies. For all we know Mr. Fishburne is adamantly trying to talk some sense into his beloved little girl.

A Father’s Honor

Funny how there are half naked girls on the cover of magazines everyday, all over the world and no body cares. No one ever stops to say–wow “That’s someone’s daughter.” I think it speaks highly to the fact that she has a Father that we honor. A father’s honor carries over to his children. Bad “bitches” say things all the time and no body flinches. But we are offended at the things this girl, this woman is saying, not because of who she is but because of who her father is.There is a scripture in the bible that says “we have not many fathers.” Perhaps that’s the reason why exploitation of women is okay. There is no honor to protect them, no standard to be upheld. But how could Morpheus’ daughter be a porn star? How dare she dishonor him. Men everywhere who usually salivate cringe someplace on the inside at the thought of that being their baby girl because of the honor they have for Laurence Fishburne.

God the Father

As women and men its important that we recognize that God is our Father and when we behave below the standard He has set we dishonor Him as well. Remember that God loves and longs to be a Father to each and everyone of us – even the girls on street corners, stripper poles & magazine covers who happen to NOT have a famous last name. If you have God’s name-you too have honor. Uphold it.
