Rejoice! Yesterday is Gone

Category : Kiss The Son

All things are passed away-behold I make all things new. This is the promise we have this Resurrection Sunday and everyday.

So many people try to hold things from our past over our heads. At times we do a great job of holding things over our own heads. If not wallowing in the guilt and regret of yesterday we have coffee with it once a week. Do you over analyze your behavior, your growth as a person or lack thereof? Stop meditating on what you did or didn’t do right yesterday, yesteryear or yester-second (new word). Jesus died and rose again to give you freedom in that area.

I don’t care if you committed adultery, cheated on your diet, dated the wrong person for years, have been apathetic about your dreams, haven’t managed your temper well, or neglected time with your children or spouse. Yesterday is gone. Today is a new day and you can make a change this moment. Isn’t that freeing?! You can accept forgiveness and see yourself as completely accepted in Him right now. When the Father sees you, He sees you through the blood of His Son Jesus Christ.  Be thankful and hand Jesus your guilt and regret. He carried it on the cross anyway, so there is no need for you to carry it now. It doesn’t seem fair I know, but that is the beauty of Grace and the great mystery of the Cross.

Make a decision not to carry the guilt of the past or any future guilt around your neck. Granted-you must repent and turn from the old way of thinking and behavior, but you must also turn your back on the guilt. You don’t have to hold a grudge against yourself. You don’t have to keep yourself away from His presence as punishment. Run to God. Christ’s sacrifice makes you acceptable. Blotting out your sin isn’t something you could have ever done on your own. Rejoice! Yesterday is Gone. All things are made new!

Happy Resurrection Sunday.
