What’s influencing you these days? Filmmaker John P. Wheatley (John 316 Film Studios) explores the question with his latest project “The Spirit of Influence” a story that highlights the spiritual melee faced by Marcus, a military veteran who faces rejection during a recession, unemployment, and life’s overall decline. Feeling that he has hit rock bottom, Marcus explodes and makes a terrible decision. Lives are changed and during the course of one long night, four people discover the true meaning of faith, responsibility,and forgiveness. The film stars Brad James and Mike Senior. The Purple Sky caught up with the Atlanta based director to learn more about the  5 part web series.

Purple Sky: What inspired you to produce “Spirit of Influence”?

JW: My personal experiences with internal struggle inspired me to create the concept. Everyday we struggle with inner conflict. Everyday we communicate with and interact with that “voice” inside. Sometimes its a positive voice and sometimes its negative. I wanted to let people know, that its normal to hear it and that we have the power to discern the good from the bad. When I hear conflicting voices, that let’s me know that somebody loves me, somebody’s thinking about me and that I am worth fighting for. That person that’s fighting for me is God.

Purple Sky: What do you want people to take away from it?

JW: No matter what the voice say, the ultimate decision is yours as to what you do. You are in control of your destiny, God gave us the power to choose.

Purple Sky: What is the purpose of John316 Film Studios?

JW: To produce effective, bold, raw and gripping kingdom entertainment exposing people to the truth.
