At The Purple Sky we believe in highlighting movements. Believers around the world are standing up for the cause of the Kingdom-in short they are
standing up for Love. They are representing Christianity in the way it was intended to be represented. They are presenting a Gospel that is good. A Gospel that represents the Father’s heart. One such movement is People of the Second Chance-Overthrow Judgement. Liberate Love. Founder Mike Foster describes himself as a passionate friend of the failed and fallen. Lover of the imperfectionists and 2nd chancers. See what they have to say about the Casey Anthony trial. Very Counter-Culture.
WHY WE LOVE IT?
Because everyday there is a new headline throwing a stone at the usual “undeserving” suspects. The irony is that we all pray a second chance exists for us in the midst of our mess. Every day someone needs a second chance. Thankfully God’s mercy is new every morning. Thank God His Grace (His undeserved favor) is sufficient for everything I encounter. We often forget this when the sin is what we deem un-forgiveable. Strangely nothing is un-forgiveable to God. Nothing. Everything is covered by Christ’s work on the cross if we receive it. Murder. Pedophilia. You name it. Unable to handle that hard truth, our hearts often wish to withhold the same Grace afforded to us. Who is this God who promises us that where Sin abounds Grace abounds all the more…
Perhaps your sin isn’t as heinous. Well in the Kingdom, Grace is free and available for everyone. Do you dare join the movement? It means you’ll have to Love the unloveable. People of the Second Chance stand for stand for 3 Core Principles:
1. GIVE A SECOND CHANCE:
We extend grace in our relationships, workplaces, and in the world.
2. RECEIVE A SECOND CHANCE:
We refuse to be victims and are not defeated by our past. We courageously open ourselves to personal forgiveness.
3. BE A SECOND CHANCE:
We sacrificially give our time and resources to the work of renewal, restoration, and social justice.
How can you increase the number of second chances extended? Get involved in a a local prison outreach, forgive someone who betrayed you, or you leave a message of Love on someone’s Facebook page who suffered public shame. Offer someone you wouldn’t normally a second chance.
Join the Movement. Be quick to forgive. It’s kingdom.
